Our Instructors

TRC’s regulatory experts have over 70 years of combined experience within the PHMSA Training and Qualifications Division, where they were responsible for training over 2,700 state and federal pipeline safety personnel.


DEWITT BURDEAUX
Market Director, Pipeline Regulatory ServicesDeWitt’s 40-plus year career in the energy industry includes compliance oversight, training and research for state and federal agencies as well as lobbying, engineering, operation and compliance for the private sector. He has been with TRC Companies, Inc. since April 2017 providing regulatory compliance consulting, participating on AGA and API committees, and providing training related to pipeline safety.He has served as chair of the Gas Processors Association pipeline safety subcommittee, as a member of several American Petroleum Institute safety committees and on the pipeline safety committees of the Texas Oil & Gas Association and Texas Pipeline Alliance.

MIKE LAMONT
Director, Pipeline Integrity ServicesMike is an industry recognized expert in natural gas and hazardous liquids integrity management and regulatory compliance strategies. A passionate communicator and teacher, Mike continues to instruct specialized courses for industry and pipeline regulatory agencies. Based out of Houston, Texas, Mike leads TRC’s integrity management, regulatory compliance, and corrosion teams.Mike has served on various industry trade organization work groups and the PHMSA DOT’s Voluntary Information Sharing Committee. Prior to his consulting role, Mike served in a regulatory compliance role in oil and gas and manufacturing.

LANE MILLER
Market Director, Pipeline Regulatory ServicesPrior to joining TRC, Lane was the Chief Compliance Engineer for Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) and also served as PG&E’s director of codes, standards and training, overseeing a 94-employee unit.He served for 27 years with PHMSA, rising from pipeline inspector and safety instructor to Director of Training and Qualifications, where he was responsible for the training of 600 federal and state pipeline inspectors.

Miller has participated for over 20 years as a member of the Gas Piping Technology Committee (GPTC), which focuses on developing technical guidance to assist operators to comply with the pipeline safety regulations.


PHIL TISOVEC
Program Manager – ILIPhil is a pipeline integrity professional with 20 years of diverse in-line inspection (ILI), non-destructive testing (NDT), and regulatory experience. Phil has assisted clients with everything from ILI project planning and execution, field validation, technology and software development to providing regulatory compliance guidance. While making sense of ILI data is his forte, he truly values working with people. Leveraging his analytic skills and diverse experience, he has an affinity for explaining complex subjects and excels at helping people in the pipeline business see the forest for the trees.

HUI YU
Senior Technical AdvisorHui was born in Qingdao, China, and holds a Ph.D. in Ocean Engineering with specialty in Material Corrosion. He also holds a master’s degree in Material Corrosion and a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from China. His technical specialties are material corrosion & control, performance evaluation and material root cause failure analysis. Prior to joining TRC, Hui has previously worked at the Ship Material Research Institute (China), Southwest Research Institute (San Antonio, TX) and Wood Group (Houston, TX). In his current role at TRC, he is focusing on delivering integrity management projects for the oil and gas integrity practice and is running powerline modeling analysis for power delivery. Hui has 40 plus journal and conference publications.
Training Offerings
