WINDSOR, CT – Today TRC Companies (“TRC”) announces the expansion of its environmental and renewable energy capabilities with the acquisition of Shoener Environmental (“Shoener”), a Pennsylvania based firm that consults on the development and permitting of renewable energy projects and greenfield development projects./p>
“By acquiring Shoener Environmental, TRC is cementing itself in the environmental space and setting a new bar for “full service,” said Chris Vincze, TRC CEO. “The acquisition of Shoener strengthens TRC’s robust, integrated renewable energy solutions and expertise in ecological systems nationally. This acquisition comes in parallel with our recent acquisition of 1Source Safety & Health, and aligns with TRC’s overall growth strategy.”
Based in Dickson City, Pennsylvania and founded in 2004, Shoener has cultivated a robust client list for its expertise in environmental, wind, solar and engineering solutions. Serving clients across the country, Shoener has presence in eastern and western Pennsylvania, Colorado, and California.
“Joining TRC provides our clients with access to holistic solutions for their environmental and engineering needs,” said Ed Shoener, President of Shoener Environmental. “TRC and Shoener both prioritize innovation and client service, making it a fit for us, as well as our valued customers.”
In 2020, TRC has supported nearly 1,000 renewable energy projects for 200 solar, wind, hydro and storage clients. TRC’s teams support renewables development projects from concept to operation, covering all phases from site selection and evaluation to environmental planning and permitting, engineering and design and due diligence and transaction support. The acquisition of Shoener brings approximately 20 environmental consulting and engineering experts to TRC with experience in federal, state, and local regulations and technical issues of wetland and ecological systems management, water quality protection, civil engineering, and GIS.
“This acquisition is a strong fit for TRC’s continued growth strategy,” said Mark Robbins, President of TRC’s Environmental Sector. “TRC is uniquely positioned to provide end-to-end services for renewable energy projects, and the addition of Shoener’s experience and geographic footprint makes that distinction even stronger. We look forward to supporting clients across the country and leveraging the expertise Shoener brings to TRC.”
