Berkshire Regional Planning Commission

TRC has successfully worked with the Berkshire Regional Planning Commission (BRPC) since 2005, under multiple EPA Brownfields Assessment Grant Programs, and since 2007 on their current $1.5M+ Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) Program. TRC has completed over 30 Phase I and/or Phase II Environmental Site Assessments and remedial planning evaluations at sites suspected of contamination from petroleum products and hazardous substances throughout BRPC’s 32 member communities. TRC routinely attends public meetings and was recently selected to help manage BRPC’s RLF Program.

Sites assessed under BRPC’s program include:

  • Pittsfield – 8 sites (Former Stetson Cleaners, JB Paper Factory, Former Bel Air Mills at 370 Waconah Street, Former Berkshire Mills Complex at 50 East Mill Street, 1 Harris Street, 35 Federal Street, Former Morningside Fire Station, Former A.H. Rice Silk Mill)
  • North Adams – 2 sites (Greylock Mill and Deerfield Machine and Tool)
  • Great Barrington – 6 sites (Hazen Paper, Former Housatonic School, Ried Cleaners, Searles/Bryant School, St. James Church, New England Log Homes)
  • Adams – 10 sites (5 and 7 Hoosac Street, Adams Memorial School, Connie’s Cleaners, 50 Commercial Street, Hoosac Valley Coal and Grain, Old Stone Mill, Topia Arts, Lot 4, Curtis Fine Paper)
  • Lee – 4 sites (Eagle Mill, 25 School Street, Bulls Eye Pub, 610 Pleasant Street)
  • Becket – 1 site (Becket General Store)
  • Clarksburg – 1 site (299 River Road)
  • Dalton – 3 sites (339 North Street, Dalton Hardwood, and LP Adams)
  • Richmond – 1 site (40 Firehouse Lane)
  • Stockbridge– 1 site (Stockbridge Motors)
  • Washington – 1 site (Former Mapleview Nursing Home)
