Vineyard Wind - Routing, Siting and Permitting

Our staff provided environmental siting and permitting support for the first offshore wind project located in the Massachusetts Wind Energy Area.

We assisted Vineyard Wind with the preparation of documents for the BOEM auction qualification and for the initial desktop assessment of the OCSA-501 lease area. We also conducted routing analysis to determine the most advantageous route through federal and state waters for the 40-mile export cable.

After export cable alternatives were identified, we completed a gap analysis of existing information and development of the supplemental geophysical and geotechnical surveys and benthic surveys needed for project-specific resolution. We then supported development of the Site Assessment Plan, Incidental Harassment Authorization, and initiated development of the Construction and Operations Plan through focused  and strategic coordination with BOEM.
