LOWELL, Mass. – TRC, a leader in engineering, environmental consulting and construction-management services, announced today that it has acquired American Environmental Consultants, Inc. of Weymouth, Mass., a hazardous materials assessment company.

Founded in 2001, American Environmental provides environmental and hazardous materials assessment, quantification and remediation consulting services to a wide variety of clients across New England. The company specializes in environmental sciences, industrial hygiene, indoor air quality, microscopy, laboratory analysis services and legal services for a full range of environmental issues.

The acquisition of American Environmental is TRC’s first since it was sold to New Mountain Capital last June.
