Webinar: Frequently Overlooked But Effective Protective Facility Design Concepts for Electric Utilities
ASIS Online is hosting this webinar, which explores vulnerabilities in the design of critical electric grid facilities, offering comparisons between poorly protected and well-secured transmission substations, switchyards, and control centers, while discussing security strategies from site selection to building hardening, applicable to both electric utilities and other infrastructure.
Learning Objectives
- Understand that simply designing new facilities like they designed prior facilities is a mistake and missed opportunity.
- Gain an appreciation for the many aspects that go into designing security into a critical facility from the ground up and consider site selection, topography, standoff distances, clear zones and various CPTED concepts.
- By showing examples of weak versus strong security measures, attendees should be able to start to understand how their own facility security could be improved.
TRC’s security and emergency management team will present this session.
