Dans l’article, Charles note que, bien que les entreprises continuent de faire face aux mêmes défis avec les réglementations fédérales, INOGA a passé une grande partie de 2023 à se concentrer sur les réglementations au niveau de l’État.
Charles aborde également l’injection de dioxyde de carbone (CO2), qui est devenue à la fois un problème au niveau fédéral et au niveau des États. Il rapporte que bien que l’Indiana élabore des règles pour les puits d’injection de CO2, il n’y a actuellement aucune primauté réglementaire pour la surveillance, permettant à l’EPA des États-Unis de continuer à gérer le programme d’injection de CO2.
