TRC experts will take the stage on ADMS-DERMS integration and data center workforce demands

WINDSOR, Conn.TRC Companies, Inc. (TRC), a global professional services firm and member of WSP providing integrated strategy, consulting, engineering and applied technologies, will participate in the 2026 IEEE PES Transmission & Distribution Conference & Exposition, May 4–7 at McCormick Place in Chicago, Ill.

Held every two years, IEEE PES T&D is the leading forum for the transmission and distribution industry, drawing utility engineers, system planners, grid modernization experts and energy solutions providers from around the world. This year’s event, hosted by ComEd, centers on strengthening T&D systems to meet the accelerating demands of electrification, aging infrastructure and grid reliability.

For TRC, this conference is a natural home. The company has spent decades embedded alongside utilities navigating the full complexity of the T&D environment, including power system studies, transmission and distribution engineering, joint use management, and workforce training. As the grid grows more interconnected and the margin for error shrinks, TRC brings a practitioner-first perspective to every engagement.

TRC Experts on the Program

TRC subject matter experts will be featured across two sessions during the conference:

Panel Session | Tuesday, May 5 | 2:00–3:30 PM From Concept to Control Room: Field Lessons in ADMS-DERMS Integration and Deployment

Derek Kirchner, Consulting Lead at TRC, joins a moderated roundtable of utility operators, vendors and system integrators to discuss what the transition from ADMS-DERMS architecture to real-world deployment actually looks like. The session will draw on practical field experience, covering integration challenges, data quality, organizational change management, and what it takes to move from pilot to scalable production. You can expect candid, technically substantive dialogue designed to give attendees answers they can use.

Data Center & AI Stage | Wednesday, May 6 | 3:00–3:45 PM Building Quality and Safety into Speed: An Agenda for Driving Human and Organizational Capacity

Anna Campbell, Director of Technical Services at TRC, moderates a discussion on workforce capacity, quality and safety as utilities and contractors face mounting pressure to deliver at pace. The session features Jason Hostetter, Senior VP of Field Operations at TRC, alongside Owen Peters, Learning and Development Program Manager at AWS.

Celebrating Women in the Energy Industry

TRC is proud to champion women who are shaping the future of power and energy at IEEE PES T&D. The conference provides a powerful platform for women engineers, planners and leaders in the field to connect, learn and lead. TRC is committed to supporting this community through the sessions we take part in and the meaningful conversations we engage in throughout the week. Stop by the booth for a special token of appreciation celebrating women.

Connect with TRC at Booth 2842

Our team will be on the expo floor throughout the conference to discuss end-to-end grid services, including:

  • Power transmission and distribution planning and engineering that support system reliability, modernization and growing load demands.
  • Joint use management strategies that streamline coordination across utility and telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Power system studies spanning load flow, fault analysis, stability and short-circuit analysis.
  • Power restoration and emergency response services for rapid recovery and operational continuity.
  • TRC Power Academy: PDH-accredited professional development for utility engineers and operators.

TRC invites utility engineers, planners, compliance professionals and operations leaders to stop by the booth or schedule a meeting in advance to discuss how TRC can support your team’s goals. Visit www.trccompanies.com/events/ieee-td-conference to learn more or request time with our team.
