Hoffnagle, Senior Vice President and Technical Director, has been honored with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award from Environmental Business Journal (EBJ). This recognition celebrates Hoffnagle’s extraordinary contributions to air quality consulting over his remarkable 57-year career.
A Certified Consulting Meteorologist (CCM), Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) and Board-Certified Environmental Scientist (BCES), Hoffnagle is widely regarded as one of the foremost experts in air quality modeling, meteorology and permitting. His groundbreaking work in meteorological modeling for complex terrains and Class I area air quality analysis has set the standard for the industry.
Throughout his career, Hoffnagle has been described by colleagues as “one of the giants in his field,” known for his technical clarity, steady judgment and unwavering integrity. His leadership roles include serving as President of the Air & Waste Management Association, the Association of Certified Meteorologists and the Connecticut Academy of Science and Engineering.
Hoffnagle’s dedication to education and innovation has earned him numerous accolades, including the Lyman A. Ripperton Award for contributions to environmental education – the only non-professor to receive this honor.
