     <p><strong>WINDSOR, Conn.\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 TRC Companies, a digitally powered and environmentally focused global professional services firm, announced its commitment to achieve Net Zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across its full value chain by 2040, aligning with the most ambitious aim of the Paris Agreement to limit global temperature rises to 1.5 \u00b0C.<\/p>\n<p>To drive accountability and progress, we also commit to the following 2030 targets:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>50.6%\u00a0reduction in company-wide Scope\u00a01 and\u00a02\u00a0emissions (offices and fleet vehicles) from 2019 levels.<\/li>\n<li>25% reduction in company-wide Scope 3 emissions (business travel, employee commuting, and purchased goods) from 2021 levels.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cAs a climate solutions leader, TRC recognizes the urgent need to address climate change and its adverse effects on our planet,\u201d says Christopher Vincze, Chairman and CEO of TRC. \u201cWe must lead the way in establishing sustainable business practices and support our clients in efforts to reduce their impact on the environment as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2>TRC has been setting and achieving goals to reduce GHG emissions since 2015.<\/h2>\n<p>We have developed a transition plan to accelerate our progress that includes the following focus areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Enhance energy management<\/li>\n<li>Expand renewable energy procurement<\/li>\n<li>Optimize fleet, including use of lower-emitting fuels and electrification<\/li>\n<li>Optimize business travel to ensure a reduced carbon footprint<\/li>\n<li>Prioritize sustainable procurement practices<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cThese targets are ambitious but achievable,\u201d says Karen Lutz, VP Corporate ESG\/Sustainability.
