And understandably so, as these are the raw materials terrorists could use to unleash a horrific attack on the United States.<\/p>\n<p>People new to the CFATS program are often surprised to learn that it also contains robust guidelines for cyber security. This means preventing unauthorized access to sensitive computer or network systems, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Critical process control systems<\/li>\n<li>Critical business systems<\/li>\n<li>Video monitoring systems<\/li>\n<li>Access control systems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The CFATS Cyber Security Measures cover not only the process control systems but also business systems that, if exploited, could result in the theft, diversion, or sabotage of a COI. The proper identification of threats and vulnerabilities and associated risk analysis requires facilities to create a cross-functional team to assess its systems.<\/p>\n                    <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/section>\n<!-- End Block: acf\/innerpage-half-text-half-image -->\n\n<!-- Start Block: acf\/wysiwyg -->\n\n<section class=\"wysiwyg section-padding bg-light-gradient\">\n    <div class=\"container-fluid\">\n        \n        <div class=\"row\">\n                        <div class=\"col-lg-12\">\n                                    <div class=\"wysiwyg__columns-text-top\">\n                        <div class=\"row js-animated-content animated-content\">\n                            <div class=\"col-lg-8 js-animated-content animated-content\">\n                                <div class=\"option-links\">\n                                    <ul>\n                                                                            <\/ul>\n                                <\/div>\n                                <h3>CFATS Cyber Security Measures<\/h3>\n                                \n                            <\/div>\n                            <div class=\"col-lg-4\">\n                                                            <\/div>\n                        <\/div>\n                    <\/div>\n                            <\/div>\n\n                                                                        <div class=\"col-lg-4 \">\n                                                        <div class=\"js-animated-content animated-content\">\n                                <p>The CFATS Cyber Security Measures comprise 46 questions in the following subject areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Policies and training<\/li>\n<li>IT personnel<\/li>\n<li>Network accounts and access<\/li>\n<li>Network operations and system architecture<\/li>\n<li>Network monitoring and Incident reporting<\/li>\n<li>Cyber control and business systems<\/li>\n<li>Cybersecurity other<\/li>\n<li>Cyber \u2013 planned measures<\/li>\n<li>Cyber \u2013 proposed measures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n                            <\/div>\n                        <\/div>\n                                                                                <div class=\"col-lg-4 columns\">\n                                                        <div class=\"js-animated-content animated-content\">\n                                <p>The first step in developing the cyber security portion of a CFATS Site Security Plan (SSP) is assembling comprehensive equipment inventory lists, detailed network topology drawings and copies of existing cyber policies and procedures. Once the background material is put together, an interview process will then review existing and proposed security measures, discuss daily operations, examine incident preparedness and assess resiliency.<\/p>\n                            <\/div>\n                        <\/div>\n                                                                                <div class=\"col-lg-4 columns\">\n                                                        <div class=\"js-animated-content animated-content\">\n                                <p>Within the security plan, the facility must list all \u201ccritical\u201d cyber assets.
